Harare – The rising queen of political wit, Samantha Kureya has been reportedly abducted, beaten – and dumped by masked, armed men.
Gonyeti to her admirers was forcibly taken from her home, in the presence of her relatives, while doors were damaged in a move believed to be politically linked. The now common moniker – Gonyeti is an informal denoting haulage trucks.After a search, she was finally located, dumped in a nearby residential area. This is not the first time she had a brush with the law. Recently, she was fined for a skit poking at the establishment shot in 2016.

Soon after the banished marches organised by the opposition were marchers were beaten, she featured on a skit mocking the security forces for their brutal handling of civilian.
The skit called ‘Evil Servant’, made fun of the police who condoned the city, yet they were also suffering from economic decay engulfing the nation. Previously, she had taken part in anther hilarious ‘Anti-fasting’ parody.
The Bus stop crew has become a comic relief to a nation punctured with persistent political and economic mishaps, before and after the fall of Robert Mugabe. The arts industry has been under siege, accused of taking an anti-government.
Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) has since condemned the allegedly abductions. “Free expression under attack in Zimbabwe as a comedian with @bustoptv is abducted tonight from her home by unidentified, armed, masked men.”
Her abductions follow similar raids targeting members of the opposition before and after the intended mass protests, later stopped by the police. The crew was berated during a heroes holiday, accused of supporting the opposition by ruling party supporters.
