Ginimbi: Socialite Still Loved, Even in Death

As Genius 'Ginimbi' Kadungure family tries to come to terms with the death of their flamboyant son, it seems his spirit is still hovering even in death, dictating the pace in most aspects of life.

Two weeks after his demise, and subsequent burial at his gigantic mansion, more revealing stories continue to dominate the world media outlets, confirming his influence during and after death.

In recent times, no other celebrity has come close to the influence that Ginimbi had in the country, causing the nation and beyond to come to virtual a standstill as many jostled to pay their last respects.

The trending story has been of his will, with his lawyer revealing that he did not register a will to determine how his estate will be distributed, his lawyers said yesterday.

“We are not aware of any will that was prepared by the late Kadungure. That document does not exist at the moment,” his lawyer told a local weekly.

Meanwhile, the Master of High Court, Mr Eldard Mutasa, had called for a meeting with the Kadungure family, creditors, and beneficiaries in Harare on Wednesday.

“For now, we don’t want to say much as a family. We are meeting tomorrow (today) and that is when we will decide what to do with our brother’s estate,” said Darlington Kadungure.
The Burial of the Late Genius Kadungure
The revelation comes after Ginimbi's friend had claimed he was entitled to one of his luxurious vehicles, a stance revoked by the lawyers, saying the leaked will was fake.

Ginimbi owned an undisclosed number of top-of-the-range vehicles such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Range Rovers, and Bentleys — all worth millions of United States dollars.

Although it is not legally stated as to what will happen to the 10-bedroomed Domboshava mansion, close family associates claim that it will be turned into a high-end hotel while some of the vehicles will be used as shuttle cars for guests.

The long-running family feud between her maternal and paternal families over the burial process of late socialite and fitness bunny, Michelle ‘Moana’ Amuli has resulted in her burial being postponed again after the High Court reserved its judgment.

This comes after, Moana’s mother, Yolander Kuvaoga, represented by her lawyer Jerome Madondo, made an urgent chamber application at the High Court to nullify the burial order issued on November 18.

In her founding affidavit, Moana’s mother revealed that she made an agreement with Mr. Amuli that their daughter will be buried at Zororo Cemetery in the presence of the deceased’s relatives and friends.

She however said Amuli later backtracked on his word and told her that Moana would be buried according to the rites of Islam in her absence, contrary to what they had agreed earlier on.

It is in the essence that Kuvaoga wants her estranged husband Ishmael Amuli to be prevented from renouncing their prior agreement that Moana be buried at Zororo Cemetery.

The confrontation has led Moana's father to claim compensation from the Ginimbi family for the loss of his daughter during the inferno that consumed three people.
