Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson surprised UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo with the gift of a new home, after he was inspired by Gorimbo's story of his bank account dropping to $7 prior to his first UFC win.

Johnson, 51, posted a video Thursday of him surprising Gorimbo at a gym, and then revealing a house he'd put under lease for the fighter in Miami. Gorimbo is from Zimbabwe, and recently sent the money he'd made in the UFC to his village to use for a well.

Johnson, who is a well-known MMA fan and presented the "BMF" belt for a fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz in 2019, said Gorimbo's story especially resonated with him because he recalls having $7 to his name in Miami, prior to his rise in pro wrestling and entertainment. He actually owns a production company called Seven Bucks Production.

Gorimbo (11-4) was emotional during the interaction and said he'd been a fan of Johnson's since he was a child. He competes in the welterweight division and is 1-1 since signing with the UFC earlier this year. He had been sleeping on a couch at his MMA Masters gym in Miami, prior to Johnson's unexpected gift.

The WWE legend and Hollywood actor recently surprised Gorimbo at his gym in Miami, where he'd been living since moving from his native Zimbabwe to pursue his MMA career, after learning of his financial struggles.

Gorimbo had just $7.49 in his bank account before his first UFC victory in May. Johnson vowed to help him out as it reminded him of his own situation before making it in wrestling.

And he's done that by buying him a home for him and his family, which he confirmed in a video uploaded on social media today (August 3) after it had been reported last week.

After meeting Gorimbo for the first time, Johnson went to see his living arrangements in the gym - where he had a list of "my reasons" which includes fighting for his village and fighting for hope and change.

He then told him they were going to meet a friend of his - who doesn't actually exist. When Gorimbo arrived at the house, which he believed was owned by the imaginary person, he spotted pictures of his family on the side.

It was then that Johnson revealed: "So Themba, I don't know anybody who lives here. I wanted to come here, I wanted to bring you here, I wanted to look you in the eye and I wanted to tell you, welcome home."

He handed an extremely grateful Gorimbo the key to the house and the pair embraced before Johnson added: "Like I said man, I was so moved by your story. And when I found out you were sleeping on the couch in the gym - now there's no more couch sleeping, this is your house. Welcome home."

Uploading the 10-minute long video to his Twitter, which you can watch below, Johnson wrote: "Welcome home @TheAnswerMMA. You and your family enjoy your new house brother. Lights are on. Bills are paid.

"Keep your “My Reason” list close, keep taking care of your people and I’m honoured to play a very, very small role in your $7 bucks journey."

"$7 bucks. I’ve been there too. Got your back brother. Let’s get to work on that dream of becoming @ufc champion one day. Welcome home ~ DJ. ps - enjoy your Cheetos and alligators." - Online Sources
