Harare – Tichafa Matambanadzo – Tich Mataz to his legion of disciples was a notch above his 90s peers in the entertainment business, according to South African DJ Sbu.

Back then, Mataz owned a mansion in a posh South African suburb, while employed by 5FM. The former Coca-Cola on the Beat presenter had joined Radio Three in 1988 before shuffling to Johannesburg.

Allegations of fake qualifications and immigration papers led to his subsequent deportation by Pretoria. He returned to Harare, but fraud allegations have pursued him ever since.

In 2009, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe accused the velvet voice Master of Ceremony (MC) for swindling the apex bank in a sour transaction.

State controlled broadcaster, Star FM suspended him for diverting $125 000 for personal use.

Jimmy Mukurumbandi also tested Mataz’s swift talking, when he allegedly lost $5 000 after a false representation.

While coming from China in February 2017, Mataz allegedly smuggled some clothing and he failed to declare the items.

His latest venture into the prophetic has surprised many, according to gossip tabloid H metro.

During a service conducted by controversial Prophet Paul Sanyangore, Mataz was reported to have spoken to God via a phone, as Sanyangore prayed for him.

“I was amazed, actually shocked. There is a living God and you have to believe. God makes things happen and there was impartation,” Mataz claimed.

Sanyangore confirmed what many had queried.

“It should not come to you as a surprise that Tich delivered prophetic messages, the spirit of the Lord can be shared and people can prophesy. At one point the Israelites asked is Saul among the prophets now,” claimed the Victory World International Ministries founder.

During a previous service, Sanyangore had promised to give out God’s phone number to congregates, a statement that received mixed reactions.

However, none saved the digits after people fell asleep during the sermon. – ww.tinzwei.com/Online Sources
