Harare – M.U.S.E – an ellipsis for (Metro Urban Sophisticated Entertainer) – has bounced back on the dance floor with another fluid hip hop input – Bench Mark.

Derick Matsengarwodzi
The cutting-edge single unveiled in January 2018 – is a lyrical testimonial journey punctuated by alert verses – set to jerk conscious audiences from their musical slumber.

His fast-paced and punchy rhymes are manifestly stimulated by Mos Def and Big Punisher – with the solitary track, apparently a slap at his detractors, confirming his elevation to a higher status.

“I wanna do me. Want to see you try catch me,” is another verse endorsing that he has eluded his ‘haters’ within the musical fraternity or elsewhere. The single’s tittle denotes it as a lyrical climax barometer within the local hip hop arena.
The M.U.S.E Release a New Track

The versatile artiste is another promising gem emerging from Bulawayo to grace the hip hop genre – collaborating with Cal Vin, Rae Lyric from Botswana and Donny Chords – a South African rapper on other projects.

Born Peter Chester in 1984 in Zimbabwe – M.U.S.E’s family relocated to USA – where he established an interest in music – heavily influenced by his new settings. At 14, he was already commanding a stage presence with the 3 Kings – a rap trio – compelled by classic rock, country blues and jazz among other genres.

To date, M.U.S.E has unleashed Exquisite Lyrics Vol 1, his official album – The Artist in 2017, earning him four nominations – while his second album The Canvas will hit the airwaves later in 2018.

M.U.S.E has performed on various platforms – 2016 and 2017 being his busiest years, appearing at notable live shows.
