Harare – One talented local soccer player will have the rare opportunity to travel to England each year courtesy of Unilever.
The Shield/Chelsea initiative aims to develop grassroots talent and Chelsea coaches will arrive in the country in July for a training camp to select the player to join the African continent’s team to further try their luck in United Kingdom.Four local coaches namely, Kalisto Pasuwa, Alois Bunjira, Naison Muchekela and Cosmas Zulu will combine their scouting and technical talents to identify 30 players for the forthcoming camp.

Together with Chelsea managers, the local mentors will select the final winner.
“This campaign is calling on soccer players in our community to come forward and showcase their talent. The best players will be selected to represent Zimbabwe in an Africa 11 team alongside players from nine other African countries,” Unilever managing director, Hillary Muzondiwa revealed.
Both males and females aged 18 to 25 are eligible to compete for the single African ticket.
