Harare - The widow of former Vice President Joseph Musika, Maria Msika will be entombed at the national shrine, together with her husband to become the fourth couple to lay at the graveyard.

The other couples are: Simon and Maud Mzenda, Edson and Julia Zvobgo and Joshua and Johanna Nkomo.

The national heroine status bestowed on Msika was announced by Zanu PF Politburo member and Defence Minister, Dr Sydney Sekeramayi at the Msika residence in Harare.

First Lady Grace Mugabe championed for Maria to be bestowed the heroine status, saying she contributed immensely to the struggle by supporting her husband when he was in prison and the children during the liberation struggle.

The liberation struggle saw different families living together and the effort of mothers as unifiers contributed to the success of the liberation struggle.
