Pretoria - Leonardo Castro has wished his Mamelodi Sundowns teammates well ahead of his move to Kaizer Chiefs in January.

News broke on the weekend of Castro's imminent switch to Amakhosi after he spent two-and-a-half seasons at Chloorkop.

Downs have since released a short video on Twitter of the Colombian striker bidding farewell to Pitso Mosimane's charges.

Castro said: "I want to say thank you to everyone for believing in me, for supporting me. I am really appreciative of the relationships. I am very happy for you. I still believe in our relationships outside.

"I say thank you to everyone. I apologise for any annoyance encountered in that time. I wish all the best for the future to everyone. Merry Christmas, happy new year and God bless."

The 28-year-old scored 15 goals in 57 appearances for the Brazilians.

Castro was born on May 12, 1989 in Bogotá and is a Colombian football forward, who currently plays for Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League.

Castro is capable of playing a variety of positions up-front, but his technical ability and positional sense makes him effective as a deep-lying-forward.

His knack of allowing more creative players roam around with more freedom has been credited for the success of Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat at the Brazilians. - KickOff
