Pastor Tabeth Chiweshe, the wife of the late renowned Evangelist Phanuel Dzangare Chiweshe has died.

According to a Facebook post by the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM), she passed away in Concession, Mazowe district on 8 April. At the time of her death, she was leading Mt Carmel Assembly, Chitungwiza East Province under AFM.

“Her rich history in AFM is unquestionable and indeed AFM in Zimbabwe and the rest of the body of Christ has lost a mighty woman of God. May her soul rest in peace,” AFM wrote on Facebook.

Evangelist Chiweshe died in 2011 after he collapsed just before a scheduled crusade. He was buried at Warren Hills Cemetery. Born in Chiweshe on November 11, 1945, the legendary preacher became one of the pillars of the AFM church in Zimbabwe.
The Late Pastor Tabeth Chiweshe
In his lifetime, he groomed other servants of God including Reverend Oliver Chipunza, the president of the Inter Denominational School of Deliverance. Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa of the United Family International passed through his hands.

“From the time I was old enough to reason, I began to admire his walk; a walk I can best describe as blameless and upright, a model Christian walk. As I grew up, I had a chance to watch him minister at crusades. His passion and focus were evident every time he stood to take up the microphone,” Prophet Makandiwa testified about the late Evangelist in 2011.

Evangelist Chiweshe left a permanent mark in the Christian community, recording thought-provoking sermons on DVDs, cassettes and CDs which are still common today. Among his greatest sermons are Baba Vebenzi, Tsano Handeyi and Mufambiro Wakaora.

The couple was blessed with three children.
